Global Media Group receives 3 ISO certificates

Several Baku-based media companies, operating under the Global Media Group LLC – Report news agency, Oxu.az news website, broadcasting portal Baku TV and outsourcing company Global Management LLC have been awarded with the ISO-9001, ISO-14001 and ISO-45001 certificates.

The certificates were awarded following an ISO audit conducted in the companies, according to Report.

These companies are already implementing an integrated management system - practices focused on quality, environment, health and safety, including processes, practices and documentation. The integrated management systems combine ISO-9001, ISO-14001 and ISO-45001 standards.

Global Media Group now applies the requirements of international standards to its companies, which are used by over a million organisations in more than 160 countries around the world. ISO is a global leader in developing standards in various areas to ensure the safety, efficiency and sustainability of products and processes.

The implementation of these certificates begins with a management decision and order, followed by an action plan. The plan creates a favourable working environment for the employees and takes into account all the nuances needed to achieve effective, quality management in the organisation. Resource management, including documentation and review of implemented procedures, management responsibilities, human resources and the company's working environment, is organised according to international standards. Performance measurement, analysis, improvement, etc. - through tools such as internal audits, corrective and preventive actions.

The ISO-9001 standard is based on a 'plan-act-verify-decide' methodology. This means providing the structure necessary to achieve effective quality management in an organization. Improved management of companies applying this standard ultimately leads to better services, products and customer satisfaction.

Another certification obtained, ISO-14001:2015, combines an effective environmental management system (EMS). EMS is considered the best system for organisations that want to reduce their impact on the environment, and the Global Media Group’s companies are fully compliant with it. Applying this system to paper recycling in print publications is highly effective.

The environmental management system is designed to monitor and report on the environmental sustainability of the firm to both internal and external stakeholders. This standard is used to improve business efficiency by reducing waste in the course of operations. This is just one of more than 23,000 standards put forward by ISO, and our Group operational policies also meet these standards to a high standard.

All the Global Media Group companies including the aforementioned ones have HSE (health, safety and environment) and ISO-45001:2018 certificates which define requirements for the management system. Guidance is therefore given to organisations on how to use it to ensure safe and healthy workplaces by proactively improving and preventing workplace injuries and ill health. This standard applies to any organisation that wants to improve health and safety, minimise HSE risks (including system deficiencies), take advantage of HSE opportunities, and establish, implement and maintain an HSE management system.

The ISO-45001 standard assumes the full achievement of HSE objectives, continuous improvement of management system indicators, compliance with legal requirements, and improvement of working conditions. The system applies to any organisation regardless of the type of activity. Taking into account factors such as the context in which the organisation operates, the needs and expectations of employees and other stakeholders, it aims to completely eliminate HSE risks under the control of the organisation.
