Russian wheat shipment to transit Azerbaijan en route to Armenia
A shipment of Russian wheat will be transported to Armenia via Azerbaijan on August 5, continuing cargo transit through Azerbaijani territory.
The shipment consists of 14 rail wagons of wheat, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The train is scheduled to depart at 11:00 a.m. from the Balajari station of Azerbaijan Railways.
Azerbaijan continues to facilitate the regular transit of grain, fertilisers and other goods to Armenia, expanding the country's supply routes and supporting broader regional economic normalisation.
This development followed the August 2025 initialling of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, mediated in Washington, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's announcement in October 2025 on removing barriers to cargo movement toward Armenia as part of wider regional connectivity initiatives, including the TRIPP project.
