The Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility for a missile strike launched toward central Israel on April 18.
In a statement released by the group's military spokesperson, they claim to have targeted a military object near Israel's Ben Gurion Airport, Caliber.Az reports citing the Houthi-affiliated Mashirah TV channel.
According to the statement, the rebels have launched a Iranian-made "Zolfaghar" short-range ballistic missile, which Israel has reported to have successfully intercepted. Sirens were sounded across central Israel, in the Jerusalem area, and in some West Bank settlements.
