Hungary’s Orban weighs Trump’s moves as possible path to war or peace
It remains unclear whether US President Donald Trump’s actions in Iran have sparked war or, conversely, could lead toward peace, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in an interview with GB News.
Orbán noted that definitive judgments on the matter will ultimately be made by historians. “The question is whether he has started a war or a peace. It hasn't been decided yet,” he emphasised.
The Hungarian leader added that during their recent meeting, Trump told him that Iran is a source of military tension and that the strike could be seen as addressing the conflict’s epicentre.
Orbán said it is too early to determine whether actions by the US and Israel will bring peace or escalate the situation further.
When asked if he had advised Trump against the strike, Orbán said the US president did not allow him to share details publicly. “I am a more cautious guy than the president,” he remarked.
