International prosecutors explore Gabala's cultural heritage PHOTO
About 100 prosecutors attending the 29th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Baku have visited the city of Gabala, Azerbaijan.
During their time in Gabala, the delegates explored several historical and cultural sites, beginning with the Jotari Church named after St. Elisha, a notable example of ancient Albanian architecture, Caliber.Az reports.
The prosecutors also toured the Gabala Archaeological Centre, where they were introduced to various exhibits showcasing the region's rich history. This cultural immersion offered the international delegates an opportunity to appreciate the historical significance of Gabala, enhancing their experience during the conference in Azerbaijan.
Approximately 470 participants from 95 countries, including prosecutors and other high-ranking officials, took part in the 29th annual conference and general assembly.
The event included various plenary sessions, working group meetings, and both bilateral and multilateral discussions, along with a series of social activities designed to foster professional connections among prosecutors and lawyers from different nations.
Established in 1995, the IAP is a global network aimed at promoting cooperation among prosecutors and enhancing the effectiveness of the prosecution services. The annual conference provides a platform for sharing best practices, discussing challenges, and fostering international collaboration in criminal justice.
