Iran enhances court operations to uphold citizens’ rights during crisis
Iran’s Attorney General, Mohammad Movahedi Azad, has directed military prosecutors to safeguard citizens’ rights and prevent enemies and anti-government groups from exploiting martial law for their own agendas.
The directive, reported by IRIB, was issued in a formal letter from the Attorney General.
According to the letter, judicial units on duty are to operate around the clock, including weekends, to ensure the immediate review of complaints and rapid investigation of reports submitted by court bailiffs.
The Attorney General also stressed that courts must remain fully accessible to citizens in every city. Regular inspections of detention facilities and investigative isolation centres are to be conducted to guarantee transparency and accountability.
The document underscores that strict adherence to these measures is essential for maintaining public order and protecting the rights of the population during periods of instability, reflecting heightened concerns about security and governance in the country.
