Iran rules out US talks beyond nuclear issue, foreign minister says
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stressed that any potential dialogue between Iran and the United States would be strictly limited to the nuclear issue.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a weekly cabinet meeting, Araghchi stated, “If there are any talks with the US, they will only concern the nuclear issue.”
He noted that during past negotiations, the United States consistently raised missile and regional concerns, but Iran’s positions on these matters have remained unequivocal.
Araghchi also highlighted ongoing regional diplomacy, revealing that Iran holds bilateral talks with Oman every six months, alternating between Tehran and Muscat.
The comments come shortly after a statement by Iran’s Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, on November 3, who said that any American request for cooperation with Iran could only be considered in the future if the US completely ends its support for the Zionist regime, withdraws all military bases from the region, and refrains from interfering in regional affairs.
