Iranian IRGC aircraft lands in Crimea for the first time
On 7 September, an Iranian Il-76TD (EP-PUS) cargo plane of Pouya Air, a company affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, landed for the first time in Crimea, at Simferopol airport.
According to NEWSru.co.il, the aircraft then flew to Moscow.
Since the beginning of 2023, cargo planes affiliated with the IRGC and Iran's defence ministry have made dozens of flights to Moscow and Damascus. But this is the first time one of these planes has been recorded landing in Crimea, which was annexed by the Russian Federation in 2014.
It is possible that drones are being delivered to the Russian Federation aboard these aircraft (although they are also delivered via the Caspian Sea). It is possible that such flights are also used to deliver other types of weapons.
Sources connected with the Iranian authorities make it clear that Iranian weapons could have been delivered to Crimea.
