Israeli ambassador: "We need only weeks to end war"
Israel’s Ambassador to France, Joshua Zarka, said that Iran’s nuclear facilities could be destroyed within weeks, while also criticising France’s stance on the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Speaking to BFMTV, Zarka stated that France “does not define itself as a friend of Israel,” adding that decisions taken by the French government reflect this position. He stressed, however, that Israel “never attacks anyone personally, including President Macron.”
His remarks came after the French president said that France “will not participate” in the war in the Middle East.
Zarka also outlined Israel’s military objectives, saying that Iran’s “nuclear targets” would be neutralised within two to three weeks. “We are a unified army. The decision is made by two leaders, and we are fully coordinated. We need only a few weeks to finish this war,” he said.
He added that weakening the Iranian “regime” is among the goals of the campaign, arguing that it would allow Iranians “to take control of their country and destiny and live in peace.”
