ISW: Russian military mines Inhulets River, fearing counteroffensive
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has said that the Russians may be preparing for a counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops in the Snegirevka-Zelenodolsk region in southern Ukraine.
This is evidenced by the fact that Russian forces are intensively planting mines on the banks of the Inhulets River (a right tributary of the Dnieper) in the areas bordering Snegirevka and Zelenodolsk, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the ISW statement.
The statement said that the Russians launched local ground strikes near the border between the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
In addition, Russian troops launched ground strikes east of Sieversk, east and south of Bakhmut city, and unsuccessfully attempted to advance northwest of the Donetsk Region.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces were engaged in limited positional fighting north of Kharkiv.
