Italy appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan
Luca di Gianfrancesco has been appointed as Italy's new ambassador to Azerbaijan, Report informs citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
He succeeds Claudio Taffuri in this position.
Italy and Azerbaijan established diplomatic relations in 1992, shortly after Azerbaijan gained independence from the Soviet Union. Since then, the two countries have steadily developed their bilateral ties, with exchanges at various levels, including political, economic, and cultural.
Over the years, Italy and Azerbaijan have cooperated on a range of issues, including energy, trade, and cultural exchange.
The appointment of ambassadors and the opening of embassies in both countries have further solidified their diplomatic relationship, facilitating greater cooperation and collaboration on mutual interests.
