Jordan accuses Israel of over 900 ceasefire violations, calls for international action
Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, condemned Israel's ongoing aggression in Gaza and its actions against the West Bank, stating that Israel had violated the ceasefire agreement more than 900 times.
Safadi made these remarks during a session of the House of Representatives, asserting that Jordan’s efforts to end Israeli aggression had not wavered, Caliber.Az reports citing Jordanian media.
The ceasefire agreement, which was brokered through the combined efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, was meant to halt hostilities and allow the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. However, according to Safadi, Israel resumed its attacks on Gaza and stopped essential humanitarian, medical, and food supplies to the region since the start of this month. These actions, Safadi explained, represented clear violations of the truce.
He explained that the agreement included the establishment of a joint Egyptian-Qatari operations room to monitor compliance with the terms of the truce. This room has recorded over 900 Israeli violations of the ceasefire over the past 40 days.
Jordan’s Prime Minister, Jaafar Hassan, also addressed the House of Representatives, emphasizing the devastating impact of Israel's continued aggression on Gaza’s civilian population, particularly women and children. Hassan stated that the violence, which has claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent civilians, goes beyond the need for mere condemnation and demands immediate international action.
The Prime Minister reiterated that Jordan’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people remains unwavering, with King Abdullah II leading the charge on the global stage to protect Palestinian rights and secure their cause.
