Journalist: Armenia responsible for triggering war with Azerbaijan

Armenian journalist Tatul Hakobyan has said that Armenia bears responsibility for bringing the situation to war with Azerbaijan in 2020.

"We had three main options to avoid war. To always be stronger than Azerbaijan and Türkiye standing behind it, which was unrealistic due to the simple demography, size and resources of the country. “However, Armenian political thought rejected such an opportunity and the prospect of getting what we needed, we fell in pursuit of wishful thinking and dreams, that is, we chose the path of losing lands through war, bloodshed, self-disintegration of "NKR", depopulation,” he wrote.

“Even now they say that whatever we did, Azerbaijan was not satisfied. Are we a state or a community? Do we have a foreign policy or is it all lobbyism and ANCA [Armenian National Committee of America]?" the journalist added.
