Kazakh president discusses with EU leader impact of EU sanctions on Kazakhstan
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed with President of the European Council Charles Michel the issue of preventing the negative impact of European Union sanctions on the economy of theCentral Asian country.
“Particular attention was paid to the issue of preventing the unintended negative impact of the European Union sanctions on the economy of Kazakhstan. President Charles Michel confirmed that the EU sanctions were not directed against third countries and stressed the importance of avoiding international sanctions evasion and circumvention. The parties also discussed the relocation of European companies producing goods that are not subject to sanctions to Kazakhstan,” the Kazakh president's press service informs.
In addition, the parties agreed on the importance of developing new international transport corridors between Europe and Central Asia to ensure global production and supply chains.
