Kazakhstan approves new Constitution with 87% support in referendum Vote breakdown / PHOTO
Kazakhstan’s Central Referendum Commission has announced the results of the vote on adopting the country’s new Constitution.
According to the commission, 7,954,667 citizens voted in favour of adopting the new Constitution, accounting for 87.15 per cent of the ballots cast, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
A total of 898,099 people voted against the proposal.

“The referendum on the question ‘Do you accept the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the draft of which was published in the mass media on February 12, 2026?’ is considered valid, as more than half of eligible voters – or 73.12 per cent – took part in the voting,” the statement said.
“The new Constitution submitted to the national referendum is considered adopted, as more than half of the citizens who participated in the vote – or 87.15 per cent – supported its adoption, including voters from more than two-thirds of the regions, cities of republican significance, and the capital,” the commission added.
