Kazakhstan sees 13% decline in Almaty crime rates
Crime rates in Almaty, Kazakhstan, have decreased by 13%, with even larger reductions recorded in categories such as murder, grievous bodily harm, theft, fraud, and street crimes.
This was reported by Kazakhstan’s Interior Minister, Yerzhan Sadenov, during a working visit to Almaty, Kazinform reports.
Sadenov held a meeting with personnel from the city’s police department and the National Guard, outlined priorities for the coming year, and instructed authorities to strengthen preventive work, improve the handling of citizen complaints, and implement digital solutions.
According to the minister, the comprehensive measures to combat crime are already showing results. Sadenov paid special attention to public order protection, setting tasks to enhance the professional level of the patrol police, military units, and integrated law enforcement forces, emphasizing that politeness and firmness remain key principles.
The minister also took part in the opening of the Almaty Police Department Museum, which showcases archival materials, uniforms from different periods, and examples of equipment.
