Kremlin: No firm plans for Putin-Trump face-to-face meeting yet
There are currently no concrete agreements regarding a face-to-face meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov has said.
While the idea of a summit between the two leaders remains “in the air,” Ushakov emphasised that such a meeting requires thorough preparation and should only take place once substantive results are ready for discussion at the presidential level, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
For now, the leaders continue to communicate via telephone, which Ushakov described as productive and already yielding tangible outcomes.
“The phone talks themselves are useful,” he said, noting that several agreements have been reached and are in the process of being implemented.
A personal meeting, he added, would be a significant event expected to produce major results, which must be carefully prepared by the teams of both the Kremlin and the White House before it can happen.
