Kremlin says Russia in talks over potential fuel imports but keeps partners secret
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was in contact with foreign countries over possible fuel imports but declined to identify the potential suppliers, saying the information would not be disclosed for "obvious reasons," according to Russian media.
"We will not talk about that for obvious reasons," Peskov told reporters when asked which countries Russia could import fuel from. "Contacts are underway."
Peskov said that if agreements were reached on fuel imports at acceptable prices, the supplies would help stabilise the domestic market.
"If agreements are reached on fuel supplies to Russia at acceptable prices, then this will happen," he said.
"It will be another step towards stabilising the market and is aimed at reducing the surge in demand."
