Kyiv claims attack on Russian corvette in St. Petersburg region
Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have claimed responsibility for a strike on the Russian Navy corvette Boykiy in Kronstadt, Russia.
“On June 3, 2026, operators of the 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces struck the corvette Boykiy in the Veleshchinsky dry dock in Kronstadt, St. Petersburg,” the statement said.
The Boykiy, a Project 20380 corvette, is equipped with guided missile systems and serves in the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy.
The vessel was launched in 2011 and has been in service since 2013. In February 2026, it entered scheduled maintenance following operational deployment within the Russian fleet.
The statement said the Boykiy had been used by Russia for operations near NATO borders, escort missions involving vessels of the so-called “shadow fleet” transporting Russian oil, and other naval tasks.
According to the Unmanned Systems Forces, the strike reduces Russia’s operational capabilities in the maritime domain and demonstrates Ukraine’s ability to conduct precise long-range strikes against key military assets.
The Ukrainian forces also said the attack limits the operational potential of the Russian fleet.
