Lebanon expresses concern over rising number of refugees due to Israeli attacks
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has said that the government is alarmed by the increasing number of displaced individuals due to the ongoing Israeli attacks on civilian areas.
Mikati made these remarks during a press conference in Beirut, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"The number of refugees from the southern regions could reach half a million. The authorities are doing their best to provide them with shelter," he stated.
On September 23, Israel launched a military operation dubbed "Northern Arrows" against Hezbollah formations in Lebanon, targeting the group's military groups with extensive airstrikes.
According to Lebanese authorities, these airstrikes have resulted in the deaths of 783 people, while approximately 150,000 residents have been forced to flee their houses in search of safety.
