Lithuania to deliver 14 armoured personnel carriers to Ukraine

Lithuania will deliver 14 M113 armoured personnel carriers (APCs) to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), according to a decision approved by the Lithuanian government on June 12.

The APCs are expected to arrive in Ukraine this week, BNS reports citing the country’s defence ministry.

The transferred armoured vehicles are intended to enhance the AFU's demining capabilities and are a gratuitous contribution from Lithuania as part of the assistance mobilized by the Iceland-led Coalition for Demining, the statement said.

Lithuania has been a staunch supporter of Ukraine during the ongoing conflict with Russia, providing significant aid since the start of the war. The assistance has been multi-faceted, including military, humanitarian, and financial support.

BNS notes that Lithuania has provided Ukraine with aid totalling over 1 billion euros, primarily in military assistance.
