Media: Iran denies approving draft agreement with US
Iran has not approved any draft agreement with the United States aimed at ending the current conflict, according to a source close to Tehran’s negotiating team.
The source, quoted by Iran’s Fars News Agency via its Telegram channel, rejected reports suggesting that a preliminary understanding had been reached between the two sides.
“No text of a preliminary memorandum of understanding with the US has been approved,” the source said.
The statement came shortly after US President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform that all parties involved had agreed on the final points of a deal with Iran. Trump also claimed that, as a result of the progress in negotiations, he had called off military strikes against the Islamic Republic that had reportedly been scheduled for later that evening.
"Discussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Türkiye, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others. The Naval Blockade will remain in full force and effect until this Transaction is finalized — Time and place of the signing to be announced shortly," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Conversely, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Tehran has not yet made a definitive decision on the matter.
