Media: Ukraine weighs sending delegation to Moscow for peace talks
Ukraine may send a delegation to Moscow for negotiations on a settlement, as Kyiv is reportedly considering such a possibility, Times of Ukraine writes, citing sources.
According to the outlet, Ukrainian negotiators could be transported to the Russian capital with the involvement of US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. The plan reportedly предусматриes that they would pick up representatives of Kyiv in Poland and then fly to Moscow, landing at Vnukovo Airport.
Times of Ukraine notes that one option under consideration is for the American representatives to act as security guarantors for the Ukrainian delegation. Official sources have not yet confirmed the information.
On January 27, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha stated that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to hold a direct meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss key unresolved issues in the peace process. Zelenskyy is prepared to address these matters at the highest level, he stated.
On January 28, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov invited the Ukrainian president to Moscow if he was ready to meet with Putin. On January 30, Zelenskyy declined to travel to Moscow.
