MFA: Azerbaijan's figures on military losses beyond doubt

This is not the first time we encounter absolutely groundless and false information from Armenian officials, Leyla Abdullayeva, the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said in response to Armenia's provocative statements.

"We remember well what the attempts of the Armenian side to mislead the public with false information during the 44-day war resulted in," she said, Caliber.Az reports quoting the Foreign Ministry.

"The official information on the losses of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan during the provocation of September 12-14 has been provided by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Eighty of our servicemen were killed during a large-scale military provocation of the Armenian armed forces. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, unlike the Armenian ministry, provides information about our servicemen killed in military clashes with the publication of a completely open and detailed list, which is posted on the department's website.

Our martyrs are our pride, their funerals are attended by a large number of people, members of the public, including government officials, and are widely covered in the media. Once again we would like to emphasise that, unlike Armenia, the data provided by the Azerbaijani side on military casualties cannot be questioned. Apparently, Armenian officials, by spreading false information, want to influence parents who have lost their children through manipulation.

Armenian officials, wishing to conceal the incompetence of their army, and seeking to change the domestic agenda by horrific methods, must finally understand that in order to ensure stability in their country, they must first avoid provocations and take concrete steps towards normalisation and peace with neighbouring countries. There is no other way," Abdullayeva said.
