Military drills underway in Lithuania

Military exercises have commenced in three municipalities in northeastern Lithuania, the country’s armed forces said.

The drills are taking place in the civilian areas of Anykščiai, Zarasai, and Utena districts, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.

Participating in the exercises are units from the region's Volunteer Military Service, which is integrated into the Ministry of Defence's framework. This particular exercise is classified as an evaluation exercise.

The drills will occur both during the day and at night, involving participants moving on foot and in wheeled vehicles while using simulated ammunition. Recently, there has been a trend of conducting military exercises in civilian zones throughout Lithuania.
