Mine explosions injure four people in Jabrayil, Aghdam UPDATED
A landmine explosion in the village of Galaychilar, located in Azerbaijan's Aghdam district, has resulted in the injury of three individuals, as revealed by the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB).
Two men and one woman were hospitalized following the incident, which occurred earlier today, April 6, Caliber.Az reports.
The victims were rushed to the emergency department of the Barda District Central Hospital for immediate medical attention.
One of the injured, a man born in 1983, sustained severe injuries and is scheduled for surgery after being diagnosed with a traumatic amputation of the right ankle joint. His condition is currently deemed critical.
A 2012-born girl was diagnosed with shrapnel wounds to both lower limbs and the chest, while a 2014-born boy suffered shrapnel injuries to both lower limbs, the front of the abdomen, and the left upper limb. Their conditions are reported to be stable, and treatment is ongoing.

A mine explosion occurred in the newly liberated village of Mehdili in the Jabrayil region, resulting in the injury of a mine clearance specialist of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).
Heydar Ali oglu Khankishiyev, born in 1991, was conducting his duties in the area when he stepped on an anti-personnel mine, ANAMA told Caliber.Az.
The explosion caused a traumatic amputation of Khankishiyev's right ankle joint. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured individual was transported to the district hospital.
ANAMA stated that Khankishiyev’s condition is stable, and he is receiving medical care.
Another landmine blast occurred in the liberated village of Galaychilar in the Aghdam district, according a joint statement from the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Prosecutor's Office, and ANAMA.
A resident of the village, Sabuhi Elman oglu Mammadov (born 1983), sustained a leg injury as a result of stepping on an anti-personnel mine while entering an uncleared area. The injured person was taken to the hospital.
An investigation is underway in the Aghdam district prosecutor’s office.
"ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, and the General Prosecutor's Office once again urge citizens to follow safety rules, pay attention to mine danger signs, and avoid entering unfamiliar areas," the statement reads.
Since the end of the Second Karabakh War in November 2020, the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) has been actively engaged in the liberated territories of Karabakh to neutralise landmines planted by Armenians during the three-decades-long occupation. These efforts are critical for ensuring the safety of returning residents and facilitating the region's reconstruction.
