Missile shrapnel injures at least 12 in Abu Dhabi area
At least 12 people were injured after shrapnel from an intercepted missile fell in the Ajban area of Abu Dhabi, officials said.
Seven of the injured are Nepalese nationals, and five are Indian nationals, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The incident occurred amid ongoing regional tensions in the United Arab Emirates.
Churches across the UAE have also announced closures over Easter Sunday in line with government guidance as a precaution during the continuing conflict.
Earlier, it was reported that authorities in Abu Dhabi are responding to an incident involving falling debris at the Habshan gas facilities following a successful air defence interception.
According to initial reports cited by Abu Dhabi Media, debris was reported after the interception, prompting emergency measures at the site. Operations were suspended while authorities responded to a fire, with no injuries reported.
Officials have urged the public to rely on verified sources and avoid sharing unconfirmed information as the situation is assessed.
