New Baku-Astara-Iran border highway nearing completion PHOTO/VIDEO
The State Roads Agency of Azerbaijan is completing a 3.5-kilometre section of the new Alat-Astara-Iran state border highway starting from 204 km.
The agency spokesman Anar Najafli made the remarks, Caliber.Az reports.
The width of the road, which is being built according to the standards of the first technical category, is 26.5 metres, the width of the dividing strip is 4 meters, and the width of each of the four carriageways is 3.75 metres, he said.
A new motorway bridge on the state border with Iran is also under construction, in particular its drainage construction elements.
The length of the new bridge is 97.5 metres and its width is 30.6 metres. Two more lanes for reserve traffic were created on the four-lane bridge, and two pedestrian crossings 2.5 metres wide each were built.
Iran, in turn, is continuing the construction of an access road to the bridge.
