Tensions escalate as Pakistan strikes multiple military targets across India
Pakistan has initiated a large-scale retaliatory military operation against India under the codename "Operation Bunyan un Marsoos" (Iron Wall), in what officials describe as a firm response to "blatant Indian aggression."
The operation is reportedly aimed at neutralizing key Indian military assets and reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, Caliber.Az reports citing Pakistani media.
According to Pakistan's security sources, multiple Indian military sites have been destroyed or rendered inoperative. Among the most significant claims is the destruction of a BrahMos missile storage site in the Beas area, as well as airfields at Udhampur and Pathankot, both of which Pakistan alleges were used to launch attacks on Pakistani civilians and religious sites.
“All those bases in India which were used to attack Pakistani people and Masajids are being targeted,” stated a military spokesperson.
In addition, the Brigade Headquarters known as “K G Top” and a supply depot in Uri have reportedly been “completely ruined.” A significant cyber attack has also been attributed to Pakistan’s broader strategy, with 70 per cent of India’s electricity grid allegedly disabled, according to unnamed security officials.
The Pakistan Armed Forces claim to have struck the Udhampur airfield, allegedly used to launch missiles on Sikh populations in Amritsar and other Pakistani areas. Artillery positions in Dehrangyari and a second BrahMos storage site in Nagrota have also been “destroyed, inflicting heavy losses.”
“Multiple targets are being engaged in the operation,” say security sources, adding that initial reports indicate heavy enemy casualties.
One of the most notable claims is the destruction of India’s advanced S-400 air defense system in Adampur. According to Pakistan, JF-17 Thunder hypersonic missiles were deployed for the strike. The S-400 system, worth an estimated $1.5 billion, was regarded as a cornerstone of India’s aerial defense.
Other military facilities reportedly hit include Sirsa airfield, which Pakistan says has been “confirmed destroyed by Indian media itself,” as well as the Indian Military Intelligence training center in Rajouri, which Pakistan alleges was involved in sponsoring terrorism across the border.
The Bathinda airfield has also been declared destroyed by Pakistani sources.
As the situation continues to unfold, both countries remain locked in a dangerous escalation, with regional and global actors calling for immediate restraint and renewed dialogue.
