Nine injured in AZAL plane crash in Kazakhstan discharged for outpatient care
Nine individuals injured in the crash of an AZAL aircraft in Aktau, Kazakhstan, have been discharged from the hospital for outpatient care.
The injured, who had previously been hospitalized, are reported to be in satisfactory condition, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
According to the Association for Management of Territorial Medical Institutions (TƏBİB), five of the patients are still receiving treatment at Yeni Klinika, which operates under TƏBIB's oversight.
One patient, who had been in intensive care in a stable but serious condition, has now been transferred to the inpatient department. Medical professionals assess the patient’s condition as moderately serious.
The remaining injured are under continuous medical supervision and are reported to be in stable and satisfactory condition.
On December 25, an Embraer 190 aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, operating Baku-Grozny flight No. J2-8243, crashed in Aktau.
A total of 67 people were onboard the Azerbaijan Airlines flight, including 62 passengers and 5 crew members, according to a statement from AZAL’s press service.
Among those aboard the plane were 37 Azerbaijan nationals, 16 Russian citizens, six from Kazakhstan, and three from Kyrgyzstan. Emergency personnel, including 52 members of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations and 11 units of equipment, have arrived at the crash site to assist in the recovery operation.
