Official: Armenia pushes for peace with Azerbaijan, neighbours
Armenia is actively pursuing the consolidation of peace and the enhancement of diplomatic relations with its neighbouring states, Vice President of the Armenian Parliament Hakob Arshakyan has stated.
Speaking during discussions on a draft parliamentary statement “On the Establishment of Peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Arshakyan highlighted Armenia’s strategic partnerships and growing international relations, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
He noted that the country has established strategic ties with the United States, a special partnership with France, and a strategic partnership with Russia based on mutual respect.
Armenia has also recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with China and maintains close relations with Japan, India, Iran, and Georgia. Diplomatic relations were recently established with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with which Armenia had no formal ties since gaining independence.
Arshakyan emphasised that the peace process with Azerbaijan would pave the way for long-term, sustainable peace with both Azerbaijan and Türkiye. He described this as a path towards a secure, independent, and dialogue-oriented state offering citizens the highest guarantees of safety.
He added that this approach to peace has already created a favourable environment for entrepreneurs and citizens.
Arshakyan urged Armenians, both at home and abroad, to visit the country and contribute to reinforcing peace, independence, sovereignty, and mutually respectful international relations.
