Official: Armenia to obtain information on sovereign territory after border delimitation
Head of Armenia's Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan has said that the country will have information about its sovereign territory after delimitation and demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan.
Two of his deputies take part in the works of the delimitation and demarcation commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Tovmasyan told reporters, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
Tovmasyan was reminded of Nikol Pashinyan's words that Armenia has no "cadastral certificate". According to the head of the committee, the Prime Minister's statement meant that the borders were not delimited.
For the official, the key aspect of border delimitation and demarcation is legal assessment. Only based on the legal assessment it will be possible to say on which maps to conduct the delimitation and demarcation process.
Last spring, Pashinyan stated in the National Assembly that the people of Armenia have lived for 30 years on territory for which they do not have a "cadastre certificate".
