Official: Azerbaijan takes first steps toward Great Return
The chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Rovshan Rzayev, has said Azerbaijan is taking its first steps toward Great Return.
"Many years later, as a result of President Ilham Aliyev's resolute position, our lands were liberated from [Armenia's 30-year] occupation. Today we are taking the first step toward the Great Return with a joyful mood," Report quotes him as saying.
Rzayev thanked Azerbaijanis for moving to liberated Zangilan District's Aghali village.
"A modern village was built in Zangilan. The 'Smart Village' concept has been implemented in Azerbaijan for the first time, and modern conditions have been created. Large-scale works are continuing in all the liberated territories," the chairman of the committee noted.
According to him, internally displaced persons are always surrounded by the state's attention and care.
"Today, people are happy that the state has provided them with sufficient support, that our Motherland has such a leader. In the cities and villages that will be restored in the future, we will live in prosperity. Today, [in the first stage] 10 families will move to Aghali, who will restore their village with their own hands, soul, and heart. The entire Azerbaijani people will be together in this matter," the official added.
To recap, 41 families will be resettled in Aghali in July.
