Official: Young people set to play active role in World Urban Forum
Young people are expected to participate actively in the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Ilgar Isbatov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, stated.
He made remarks at the 11th Azerbaijan Youth Forum in Khankandi, emphasising the need to continuously motivate them to take part in such initiatives via exhibitions, competitions, and other similar activities, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Isbatov noted that young people need to act with determination and commitment, highlighting that this is crucial for both their professional and personal growth.
He added that the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture is always ready to offer support in this area, underlining the vital role of youth in driving sustainable urban development.
WUF13 is scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from May 17 to 22, 2026. Organised in partnership with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the Azerbaijani government, the forum will gather representatives from national and local governments, the private sector, civil society, youth networks, academic institutions, and international organisations from around the world.
