Azerbaijan Airlines launches direct flights from Baku to Aktobe PHOTO

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), a subsidiary of AZCON Holding, has launched direct flights between Baku and Aktobe, expanding its network in Kazakhstan.

The airline’s first flight on the new route has been completed, AZAL’s press office told Caliber.Az.

Flights between Baku and Aktobe will operate three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The new route is expected to facilitate business and leisure travel between Azerbaijan and western Kazakhstan while creating additional opportunities for closer ties between the two countries.

Aktobe is a major industrial and economic centre in western Kazakhstan. The region also attracts visitors with its natural and historical sites, including the Aktolagay chalk mountains, Barkhan Sands, Kargaly Reservoir, historical monuments and pilgrimage sites.

Aktobe is AZAL’s third new destination in Kazakhstan this year, following the launch of routes to Shymkent and Atyrau.

With the expansion, AZAL now connects Baku directly with six cities in Kazakhstan. The airline said its growing network in Central Asia also provides passengers from Kazakhstan with additional travel options through Baku and connections to destinations across its international network.

Tickets for the new route are available through AZAL’s official website and mobile app, as well as the airline’s sales offices and accredited travel agencies.
