Over 14 billion cubic meters of gas transported via Azerbaijan’s main pipelines
A total of 14.2872 billion cubic meters of gas was transported through Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines in January–April 2026, marking a 2.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to the State Statistical Committee, as cited by local media.
During the reporting period, 52.8%, or 7.5393 billion cubic meters, of gas was transported via the South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum), which represents a 2.9% year-on-year increase.
The South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) was commissioned at the end of 2006 and delivers gas from the Shah Deniz field to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. Commercial volumes through the expanded pipeline began flowing to Türkiye in June 2018 and to Europe in December 2020.
According to the report, the shareholders of the pipeline company include BP (29.99%), LUKOIL (19.99%), the Southern Gas Corridor company (21.02%), TPAO (19%), and NIKO (10%).
