Over half of Ukrainians consider Hungary hostile
More than 50 per cent of Ukrainians say that they consider Hungary a hostile state, making it one of the top five countries on the list.
The data comes from the survey conducted by the sociological group "Rating", Gazeta.ru reports.
The vast majority of Ukrainians believe that Russia [97 per cent], Belarus [90 per cent] and Iran [75 per cent] are hostile. China and Hungary entered the category of more unfriendly countries: 58 per cent see China and 52 per cent see Hungary as an enemy.
It should be noted that earlier these two countries were perceived as "more neutral", as in June 2023 China was perceived as hostile to Ukraine by 34 per cent of the country's residents, and Hungary was in the opinion of 42 per cent of Ukrainians.
At the same time, Ukrainians named the United States, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Canada and Japan as friendly countries.
"In general, the majority considers the US and the UK (81 per cent each), Germany (80 per cent), Poland and Lithuania (79 per cent each), Canada (78 per cent), France (70 per cent), Japan (55 per cent) as friendly to Ukraine," the authors of the survey reported.
The poll was conducted between February 10 and 11, 2024 among 1,000 adult Ukrainians. The margin of error does not exceed 3.1 per cent, the authors said.
