Poland claims involvement of “Eastern secret services” in railway sabotage
Polish authorities believe that the sabotage of the railway line between Warsaw and Lublin may have been orchestrated by “secret services from the East,” according to a statement by Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services.
Dobrzyński emphasised that preliminary data indicate a “terrorist nature” of the incident. Details of the investigation are being withheld in the interest of the inquiry, as, according to him, Russian agencies are closely monitoring the actions of Polish services, Caliber.Az reports, citing RMF24.
The intelligence spokesperson noted that the goal of the sabotage organisers was to destabilise Polish society and create tension in relations between Warsaw and Kyiv.
To recall, Polish authorities had previously stated that the explosion on the strategically important railway line was deliberate. After the incident, territorial defence units were deployed to protect the infrastructure, and train traffic on the damaged section was restored during the night of November 18.
Later, Polish media reported that the explosion may have been triggered using mobile phones.
