Poland invites S Korea to help develop domestic nuclear power industry
South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has visited Poland for talks on regional security amid war in neighboring Ukraine as well as to discuss the countries' military and nuclear energy cooperation.
As reported by the Polish First News, those matters were discussed during the South Korean prime minister's visit to Poland on September 13.
Warsaw has recently purchased Korean FA-50 fighter jets along with other military equipment. The government plans to spend over 4% of its gross domestic product on its defence units in 2024 amid the raging war in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and his Polish counterpart, Mateusz Morawiecki, discussed further cooperation on military weapons and equipment, as Poland also wants to help produce South Korean weapons.
South Korea is also going to assist Poland in developing its domestic nuclear power industry with the "Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power" company providing its expertise in the development of three Polish nuclear power plans.
