Poland urges citizens to evacuate Iran over escalating military threats
Polish citizens in Iran have been urged to leave the country immediately amid rising concerns of armed conflict, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on February 19.
“Please leave Iran immediately... and do not go to this country under any circumstances,” Tusk said, warning that evacuation may no longer be possible within hours if the situation deteriorates, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The warning comes as Iran issued a notice to airmen (NOTAM) announcing planned rocket launches across its southern regions from 0330 GMT to 1330 GMT on February 19, according to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration website.
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have been mounting. The United States has deployed warships near Iranian waters, while U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated that Washington is weighing whether to continue diplomatic engagement with Tehran or pursue other options.
The U.S. has repeatedly called on Iran to abandon its nuclear program, but Iranian officials have denied seeking to develop atomic weapons.
