Preliminary findings on AZAL plane crash to be revealed in late January, Kazakhstan says
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport and Communications has confirmed that the final investigation report regarding the tragic Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane crash near Aktau will be published by late January 2025, in line with the regulations set forth in Kazakhstan’s legislation and ICAO Annex 13.
The ministry emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, with a team of international experts working daily to determine the cause of the crash, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The experts are thoroughly examining all aspects of the incident, with the goal of completing their findings within a 12-month period, as stipulated by the guidelines of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
On December 25, 2024, an AZAL passenger flight travelling from Baku to Grozny crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan. Of the 67 people on board, 38 lost their lives, while 29 survived. Preliminary investigations point to the possibility of external physical and technical interference as factors contributing to the crash.
