President Aliyev meets Kazakh ministers, eyes economic, transport expansion PHOTO
On April 8, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev welcomed Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev and Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev, emphasising the strong potential to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
President Aliyev noted with satisfaction that bilateral relations between the two countries have developed in the spirit of partnership and brotherhood, Caliber.Az reports via the presidential website.
He emphasised that reciprocal state visits, discussions held during these visits, adopted decisions, and exchanges of delegations at various levels have brought the peoples and nations closer together while strengthening the potential for joint initiatives.
The Azerbaijani president expressed hope that the joint investment fund would be fully utilised, noting that several projects are already in the planning stage, and touched on the potential for Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to make joint investments in third countries. He also expressed confidence that the ministers’ visit to Azerbaijan would be successful.
Grateful for the reception, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Kosherbayev said they felt honoured to meet with the Azerbaijani president and conveyed greetings from Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, which President Aliyev reciprocated. Kosherbayev highlighted the high regard in which President Aliyev is held in Kazakhstan.
The discussion covered the robust development of bilateral relations in political, economic, transport, logistics, investment, energy, green energy, and other areas, emphasising strong opportunities for further cooperation.
Projects such as the Middle Corridor, Trans-Caspian Green Energy Corridor, and fibre-optic line were addressed, with both sides noting successful collaboration.
The role of normalising relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the TRIPP project passing through Armenian territory, was discussed in the context of regional cooperation and transport connectivity.
The meeting also underscored successful partnerships within international organisations and included an exchange of views on other mutually relevant issues.
