Protesters in Tbilisi plan to block key facilities following suspension of EU talks
Protesters in Tbilisi are planning to block key strategic facilities, including railway stations, central highways, and the TV and radio broadcaster, the Georgian Interior Ministry said.
The ministry reported that calls for demonstrations and the disruption of crucial infrastructure have been circulating on social media, Caliber.Az reports.
While the ministry affirmed the importance of the right to assembly and expression, it emphasized that such freedoms do not extend to actions that hinder vital services or disrupt the daily lives of citizens.
The protests erupted on the evening of November 28, following the announcement by the ruling Georgian Dream party that it would suspend talks for EU accession until 2028.
The decision has sparked widespread opposition, with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili joining the protests in solidarity with demonstrators.
