Putin accepts Tokayev’s invitation to visit Kazakhstan
Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s invitation to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan in 2026.
Putin made the remark at the conclusion of the protocol part of his talks with Tokayev, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“I will be glad to visit Kazakhstan,” Putin said.
During the meeting, Tokayev underlined that the visit would go beyond protocol formalities, stressing the importance of signing a “new generation of high-level agreements” and ensuring their effective implementation.
Putin, in turn, noted that he and Tokayev would meet again later this month at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit in Bishkek.
Tokayev, who is currently in Moscow on a state visit, said the two sides plan to sign a declaration elevating relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.
Before the Kremlin talks, which lasted more than two hours, the Kazakh president also met with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko.
