Putin instructs Rostec CEO to boost production of drones, tanks, weapons
Russian President Vladimir Putin has met Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov and instructed him to increase the production of drones, as well as other cutting-edge weapons.
During their meeting, they focused on the Kub and Lancet kamikaze drones, combat drones and T-90M “Proryv” (Breakthrough) tanks, according to Kommersant.
"It is necessary to increase in percentage terms the production of the latest weapons. The T-90 ‘Proryv’, aeroplane systems. You know what we are talking about," the Russian president told Chemezov.
"Of course," Chemezov replied.
According to Putin, both the Kub and the Lancet demonstrated very high efficiency.
The head of Rostec assured President Putin that 90 per cent of all the products involved in the special operation are "ours”.
Chemezov also told the head of state that Rostec is also engaged in the production of UAV countermeasures complexes.
"We have created small radars that can detect small-sized and low-speed targets - these are just drones, because the radars that exist today cannot always detect these targets because they fly low, while radars are designed to intercept high-flying types - airplanes, missiles and so on," he added.
