Kremlin: Putin ready to meet Trump, decision now up to US president

The invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to US President Donald Trump remains valid, with the next decision resting on the American side, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told TASS when asked if the invitation is still on the table.

“It’s not hidden under the rug. This is an active invitation. Putin is ready and would be pleased to meet President Trump. What happens next depends entirely on Trump’s decision,” Peskov said.

In August, following talks with Trump in Anchorage, Putin proposed holding the next meeting in Moscow. The American leader called it possible, while noting that he might face criticism for doing so.
