Russia and Armenia continue strong bilateral cooperation, Kremlin confirms
Russia considers Armenia an important partner and remains committed to deepening bilateral cooperation, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated.
He was addressing media reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had instructed government agencies to "restore ties" with Moscow, Caliber.Az reports via Russian news outlets.
"Relations between Russia and Armenia have never been interrupted, and they cannot be interrupted. Armenia is a friendly country to us, a sovereign state, yet we share deep historical, cultural, and economic connections. We also collaborate within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)," Peskov emphasized during a press briefing.
The Kremlin spokesperson welcomed Yerevan’s positive approach to strengthening relations, stating that both sides are prepared to work actively toward furthering their partnership.
Peskov’s remarks come shortly after a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, initiated by the Armenian side. The two leaders discussed the ongoing peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, reaffirming their commitment to diplomatic engagement.
