Russia expands charges against billionaire Suleymanov
Russian investigators have expanded the charges against one of Russia’s most influential billionaires, Ibragim Suleymanov, who was previously accused of organising two murders and an attempted killing.
Investigators said Suleymanov had also been charged with establishing a criminal organisation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Other individuals implicated in the case have been accused of participating in the alleged criminal group.
Suleymanov was detained in October 2025.
Investigators allege that he orchestrated the killing of trade union figure Gennady Borisov in 1999, as well as the murder of Georgy Tal, former head of the Federal Service for Financial Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy, in 2004.
In addition, Suleymanov is accused of organising an attempt on the life of lawyer Ilya Peregudov.
Testimony regarding this allegation was reportedly provided by a secret witness identified under the pseudonym “Tarkovsky.”
