Russia fires Iskander missile, over 200 drones at Ukraine, Kyiv says
Russia launched a ballistic missile and more than 200 strike drones against Ukraine overnight, the country’s military has said.
In a statement, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said the attack included one Iskander-M ballistic missile and a total of 206 unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed-type drones as well as Gerbera, Italmas and other models. Around 140 of the drones were identified as Shahed systems.
Ukrainian air defence forces said they intercepted or suppressed 172 drones during the overnight assault across multiple regions, including the north, south, west and east of the country.
Despite these interceptions, the military reported impacts from both the ballistic missile and 32 strike drones at 22 locations. Additional debris from downed drones was recorded at nine separate sites.
