Russia’s youngest terrorist arrested on new extremism charges
Nikita Uvarov, 20, Russia’s youngest convicted terrorist, has been arrested in a new criminal case while serving a sentence for planning to blow up an FSB building in the video game Minecraft.
Uvarov was due to be released from the penal colony on March 19, Ngs24.ru. reports.
The Sovetsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk detained Uvarov under investigation for Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code, which covers “Participation in the Activities of an Extremist Organization.”
Authorities allege that in February and July 2025, while incarcerated, Uvarov portrayed himself as a member of an extremist group and instructed other inmates on rules of conduct, seeking to introduce a criminal style of communication and criminal-world norms within the colony.
Uvarov first drew national attention as one of three 14-year-old schoolboys from Kansk detained by the FSB in summer 2020. The teenagers were accused of forming a terrorist community, making them the youngest individuals ever implicated in terrorism-related cases in Russia at that time.
